Albertans generally pay less in tax than Canadians in other provinces. Much of this is because Alberta remains the only province without a provincial sales tax.
Other provinces will soon have the federal carbon tax imposed on them if the provinces don’t come up with their own carbon tax or cap and trade system. Even with Alberta taking leadership on the carbon tax issue, Albertans still pay among the lowest charges on gas and diesel.
